Costa Rica – Part 5

Guan BeachTuesday we were on the road again to Guanacaste.  We stopped and took a picture of a farmer in his ox pulled cart.  The man was very polite and waited patiently and smiled while I took his picture.  Jose stopped at a house where homemade bread and sweets were being sold and oh my goodness, what a special treat that was.

Our last stop for our trip was at an all-inclusive family resort.  This resort was set on a hillside and most of the cottages were two connecting rooms which would be great for families.  The beach was huge with some black volcano sand and some lighter sand.  I dropped my glasses in the sand one day while we were walking on the beach.  Well my glasses have the magnetic sunglasses and the sand attached itself to the magnet on my glasses.  I never knew sand could be magnatic before that.  I nearly never got the sand off the little magnets on my glasses.

dolphinsAt this resort they had snorkeling, sea kayaks and jet skis available on the beach.  We spoke with some vacationers who had been on a Jet Ski tour and said they were surrounded by dolphins at one time during their tour and they were so excited talking about it.

We went white water rafting and it was for beginners, for the most part.  But there were a couple of times that we went over a fall that was pretty much straight up and down.  For one of the falls one of the guides stood by the fall and held me in the boat while we went over it.  That was quiet an experience.

One of the highlights of my stay while at this resort was our anniversary night.  The staff set up a table for 2 in a gazebo and there were candles everywhere, even on the steps going up to the gazebo.  It was also pouring down fiesta premier poolrain and we could watch the rain on the ocean.  We felt sorry for the waiters going back and forth in the rain, but they kept insisting it was their pleasure.  It was one of the most romantic dinners I ever experienced.

Sadly our last day came and we had to leave cool, friendly, beautiful Costa Rica and return to Texas and 100+ temperatures.  But, I look forward returning soon to Costa Rica.
